MUD

What Mud is All About:

“As a team, we strive to combine the competitive attitude of Dirt with a culture of fun and accessibility. As the no-cut team on campus, we welcome newcomers and experienced players alike. Our main goal is to make sure everyone has a good time and, regardless of experience, enjoys the sport of Ultimate. Over the past 5 years, the Men’s B team has grown from a squad of about 10 to over 30 active players. In addition to weekly practices we also compete in a number of tournaments each year, traveling to Oregon and Montana as well as hosting our own. In the past few seasons we have established ourselves as one of the best B teams in the nation (as high as #7 in North America according to USAU) and we now compete at the highest level in the Northwest conference. As our program continues to develop, we hope to qualify for the 2nd stage of the USAU postseason – a goal which we were 4 points away from in 2018 (losing 11-7 to OSU’s A team in the final game of NW Sectionals).

As we continue to grow, we maintain our values of inclusivity, community and fun. We are and will continue to be a no-cut team that is run by the players themselves. While other teams may limit the playing time of certain players, MUD does not call lines, and therefore it is up to each of us how much we play. Because we are self-run, it is our own responsibility to welcome new members of the program to the team and to our community. We are not just athletes, we are friends and a team.”
